Fact
This is actually the second University of Chicago.
The "original" was founded by Stephen Douglas, the U.S.
senator from the Lincoln-Douglas debates (and who's also responsible
for all of the railroad lines that run through the city). It was a
Baptist farming college located near Comiskey Park. However, it soon
went bankrupt and disappeared. Many years later, John D. Rockefeller
bought the name "University of Chicago" and founded this
university. We've done better financially than the original, and I'm
hoping that it will stay that way, at least for the year. -Josh, 4th year
