A Day in the Life of Dan Mega 6:40 am Wake up to the sound of my alarm . . . and hit "Snooze" 6:50 am – Wake up again, this time for real, and stumble to find clothes to put on and rush out the door . . . to run to the weight room. 7:00 am – Start lifting. I barely made it on time, and everyone in the room is still half-asleep . . . but we have to work out! 7:40 am – Go to the locker room and pick up my laundry (yes, they actually do laundry for varsity athletes!), and get cleaned up 7:50 amFootball film review for the upcoming game. 8:30 am – Run back to my room in Max Palevsky Central, Graham House to get my backpack 8:32 am – Head over to the Bartlett Dining Commons for a quick breakfast. Usually I have scrambeled eggs, bacon, and hashbwons (seriously, some of the best hashbrowns I've ever had). If I'm in a rush or looking for a quick snack, I'll get a bagel and cream cheese. I've also heard the omelets are great but I'm too impatient to wait for one! 9:00 am – Start Humanities (HUM) class. I'm taking Greek Thought and Literature. I wasn't a big fan of classical literature before, but our professor does a great job of engaging the class and making the material interesting to me. I really start to wake up now! 10:20 am – Finish HUM class and head back to my room for a break. Usually I meet up with some friends after class and we walk back together. 12:00 pm – Head back into the main quad for a math (Calculus 13100) tutorial. We go over homework problems and discuss issues we might be having with the homework. It's pretty standard, but is extremely helpful if you're not doing well in class or have a question about a particularly tough problem, generally everyone has the same question. 1:20 pm – Meet up with friends after lunch and we all walk back to Bartlett for a bite. Lunch is my favorite meal of the day . . . and I always enjoy it. My buddy Leroy who works there always gives me a little bit more vegetables and chicken in my stir fry. Staff is really friendly. 1:40 pm – Go back to my room and straight to sleep. TIME FOR A NAP! Give me a break, I woke up at 6:50! 3:00 pm – Head back over to the Ratner Athletics Center to pick up my laundry, put on my practice pads and pants and head to another film review session 4:00-600 pm – Football practice 6:45 pm – Talk my roommate into going out to eat tonight (he has a car!) and we go grab some food from Hyde Park Gyros. It's a little hotdog and Italian beef place . . . I love it. 7:30 pm – Relax for a bit and kick back . . . but I'm careful never to lay in my bed because I know I'd fall asleep . . . and I need to be ready for class! 9:00 pm – Head over to the library to get some work done. Gotta keep up with the studies! 11:45 pm – BED |
